Monday night was nothing short of a total disaster for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, falling 41-31 to the Baltimore Ravens at Raymond James Stadium.  Aside from the game, which flipped on its head in a nightmarish second quarter (an alarming trend lately, by the way), the Bucs' promising season now appears effectively lost after both Mike Evans and Chris Godwin left the game with significant injuries.

Godwin suffered a dislocated ankle inside the final minute of the game, with the Bucs down by 10.  He was tackled, and it was immediately clear that he had suffered a serious injury, with Godwin crawling on his stomach with his ankle and foot completely limp.  The injury was so bad that Joe Buck said they were advised that a replay would not be shown of it.  Teammates were visibly distraught, with Jalen McMillan screaming and Baker Mayfield kneeled and put his head in his hands.

However, in the moment, Godwin uttered three simple words that showed he was ready to jump back to something he's unfortunately had to do too recently, which is rehab an injury.

Godwin, who is set to become a free agent after the season, has had some very unfortunate injury luck in recent years.  He suffered a torn ACL and MCL back in December 2021, which he indicated it had taken him until this past summer for him to get back to where he was before.

That was evident with his elite level of play this season, where he was on pace for a career season. He had totaled 62 catches for 576 yards and 5 touchdowns, leading the league coming into the game in yards after catch.

Now, he's going to have to turn his focus back to recovery and rehabilitation.  Not something any player wants to do.  However, with three simple words, it sounds like Godwin is ready to take on that fight with the same vigor that he has opposing defenses so far in 2024.
