The Minnesota Vikings have lost their last two games and it has sent numerous fans into a panic. They have looked significantly worse over the last few weeks than they did over the first five games, especially on the defensive side of the football.

What has happened for the Vikings is there have been numerous discussions about making a massive trade to acquire a talented defender on the defensive line. Names like Jeffery Simmons of the Tennessee Titans and Dexter Lawrence of the New York Giants. While the rumors have been bountiful about potential moves, the likelihood of one happening is getting smaller.

NFL insider says no on a Jeffery Simmons trade

As we get closer to the NFL trade deadline, we are hearing more about which players are and aren't available. The Athletic's Diana Russini poured water on the fire of a trade for Simmons saying she expects him to be "off limits."

Tennessee spent the most money of any team this offseason to build up a depleted roster, yet as head coach Brian Callahan hunts for the second win of his head-coaching career, most around the league see the Titans as a rebuild. That said, one player I expect to be off-limits is star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. I know teams such as the Lions, Ravens and Vikings would love to add a piece to their defense, but the Titans consider “Big Jeff” a big part of their future.

As we heard with the report early last week that Titans have "no intentions" of trading Simmons, this report uses the word expect. Is he truly off-limits or are the Titans trying to drive up the price? With reports like these, it's hard to truly know one way or the other.

If the Vikings truly want to make a Super Bowl run, they need to find a way to make a move. Will they end up getting one of the supposed untouchable players? Probably not, but it's always good to remember that just about every team has a price they are willing to pay.
