The Minnesota Vikings are primed to be aggressive at the trade deadline, even considering offering their first-round pick.

One of their potential trade targets is Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. He would fill a big need and make a really big impact for how the Vikings play defense. However, it doesn't seem to be a plausible outcome.

Per A to Z Sports and 104.5 The Zone's Buck Reising, the Titans don't have any intentions of trading away Simmons. General manager Ran Carthon called Simmons a "leader of the organization" this summer.

Titans not interested in trading Jeffery Simmons

It's not a surprise that the Titans aren't interested in trading Simmons. Teams don't trade star defensive tackles because they are really hard to come by. When you find one, teams almost always re-sign them to market level contracts.

In the last five seasons, only one high-profile defensive tackle has been traded and that was DeForest Buckner in March of 2020 and he went for the 13th overall pick. The San Francisco 49ers traded down one spot and selected his replacement in Javon Kinlaw.

It's a really strong defensive tackle class in the NFL Draft, which could end up helping change the mind of the Titans if the Vikings come in with a strong enough offer. It also could mean that Simmons really is off the table. Just remember one thing: the Vikings were never planning on trading Percy Harvin or Stefon Diggs either.
