In Week 6, the Cleveland Browns are preparing to take on the Philadelphia Eagles on the road. When the Browns do so, they may be without a few players.
On Wednesday, the following players did not practice for the Browns; safety Grant Delpit (concussion), cornerback Denzel Ward (hamstring), safety Ronnie Hickman (ankle), running back D’Onta Foreman (ankle), center Ethan Pocic (knee), and long snapper Charley Hughlett (ribs).
Head coach Kevin Stefanski said out of the players not practicing, Hughlett is one that will likely be out against the Eagles. Additionally, running back Nick Chubb is “day-to-day” and how he practices this week will dictate whether or not he can go against Philadelphia.
"Anything's possible,” Stefanski said on the possibility of Chubb being activated later this week. “But I'm really so focused with Nick on today. Not looking too far out."
Delpit and Ward both exited against the Washington Commanders and it is up in the air whether or not they play. Having them and Ethan Pocic will be key since all are starters on this football team. Cleveland has dealt with their fair share of injuries this year, they can’t afford to sideline any more starters while in this 1-4 hole.
On the plus side, the Browns have welcomed back defensive tackle Maurice Hurst and linebacker Mohamoud Diabate from the Injured Reserve. Both players have missed the last four games and could return against the Eagles. Cleveland could get rookie defensive tackle Mike Hall Jr. on the field this week, who served a five-game suspension to start the season. That will depend on how he practices this week.
Chiefs and Browns can benefit from NFL trade deadline deal that sends WR Amari Cooper to Kansas City
A hypothetical trade that makes sense for both the Kansas City Chiefs and the Cleveland Browns.
