The Green Bay Packers announced on Saturday one elevation from practice squad for gameday in Week 6, when the team faces the Arizona Cardinals.
As fairly expected, Green Bay elevated fullback Andrew Beck.
That happened because tight end Luke Musgrave was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury, and recently-signed John FitzPatrick won't be active this week — he has to learn at least a little bit of the playbook first.
It's Beck's second elevation of the season, as he had been active against the Los Angeles Rams last week. The veteran has already played for the New England Patriots, Denver Broncos, and Houston Texans. Even though Beck is listed as a fullback, it's an interchangeable position with tight end in the Packers offensive scheme.
The Packers did not elevate any cornerbacks, which is a good sign that Jaire Alexander will be good to go. He's officially listed as questionable because of a groin injury.
Practice squad elevations this season:
- QB Sean Clifford (2)
- CB Robert Rochell (2)
- FB Andrew Beck (2)
- CB Kamal Hadden (1)
The Packers already have a solution in their hands, they just need to let it happen
Edgerrin Cooper is third in LB snaps on the Packers
