We are five games into Year No. 3 for Deshaun Watson with the Cleveland Browns and things have still not worked out the way that the team envisioned.

Through 17 games played with the Browns, Watson is still here to show he is the franchise quarterback for the Cleveland Browns. While the offense was poor in the Week 5 loss to the Washington Commanders, Watson was right there in the middle of it.

With things not working out under center for the Browns and with the whole offense really, head coach Kevin Stefanski was asked after the game if he would be making a quarterback switch.

"We're not changing quarterbacks,” Stefanski said. “We need to play better. I need to coach better and that's really what it is."

This answer is not an unexpected one from the two-time NFL Coach of the Year. He has never been one to throw players under the bus and he isn’t going to start now. 

Watson was 15-for-28 passing with 125 yards and a touchdown pass against Washington. He fumbled once and was sacked seven times. The offensive line was not good once again, but the tape will show that Watson was at fault for multiple sacks as well.

Now at 1-4 on the season, the Browns’ schedule is only going to get tougher. Things are closer to worrying about mock drafts than the playoffs for fans and that is the sad reality out of Week 5.

"It's easy to single people out. Single me out. I need to get it fixed,” Stefanski said after the game.

Next up for the Browns is a trip to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles next Sunday. When they are out there in Week 6, it will be Watson starting under center still.
