Philadelphia Eagles (6-2) linebacker Nakobe Dean's first NFL career interception could not have come at a better time in the team's Week 9 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars (2-7).
The Eagles were up 28-23 with 1:42 on the clock when Dean picked off Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the end zone to seal the victory for the Birds.
The catch marked Dean's first career NFL interception and it ultimately bailed out Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, considering the game against a 2-6 Jaguars team should have never been that close to begin with.
Dean has been on fire this season after missing last fall with two foot injuries.
He currently ranks second on the Eagles' defense behind Zack Baun with 60 total tackles, seven tackles for loss, two sacks, and three passes defended, and a game-winning interception.
The Eagles' defense overall had been a concern heading into the Week 5 bye but they have since turned things around and have logged at least one takeaway in their last three wins.
According to Dean, getting the ball back has been the main goal each week.
"We got this thing now that we're putting all of our takeaway balls in the linebacker room," Dean said postgame. "We got one last week from Zack's forced fumble and it's good to add two more because we have kind of been heart building. Like man, 'We need to take the ball away. We need to take the ball away.' And we finally starting to take the ball away and we hope to continue to take the ball away."
After nine weeks, the Eagles now have five interceptions and six forced fumbles.
