Barring an unexpected setback on the San Francisco 49ers' trip to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Christian McCaffrey will make his season debut in Week 10.

Kyle Shanahan had already essentially confirmed as such earlier this week, and made it official as he confirmed the Niners' final injury report on Friday.

McCaffrey is officially listed as questionable, but that is purely for administrative purposes. He will be activated from injured reserve on Saturday, enabling the reigning Offensive Player of the Year to make his season debut after missing the opening eight games with Achilles tendinitis.

"He'll be good to go unless something crazy happens on the plane ride," said Shanahan.

While there is little doubt over McCaffrey's status, Shanahan conceded to concern over defensive end Nick Bosa, who suffered a hip pointer in Wednesday's practice and was described by his head coach as "extremely limited".

Wide receiver Deebo Samuel is also listed as questionable with rib and oblique issues but, unlike in Thursday's practice, he did not wear a blue non-contact jersey.

Rookie safety Malik Mustapha is questionable with a calf injury, which could see veteran Tashaun Gipson elevated from the practice squad to serve as insurance for the game. Gipson was signed for a second stint with the team on Tuesday.

Interior offensive lineman Jon Feliciano is questionable with the knee injury that has kept him out for the entire season, though it isn't certain whether he will be activated from injured reserve.

One player who won't is defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos. He is out with a knee injury that has hindered him since preseason. Defensive tackle Kevin Givens (groin) is also out, as is wide receiver Chris Conley (hamstring).

Cornerback Charvarius Ward will understandably not play following the funeral for his one-year-old daughter Amani Joy in Dallas on Friday.
