A lot went wrong for the Cleveland Browns in their 35-14 loss to the New Orleans Saints coming out of their bye week. The Browns are now a 2-8 football team and that is reality.

One thing that was a struggle for the Browns once again was the kicking game. Dustin Hopkins missed a pair of field goals for the Browns and to this point, it has been a rather disappointing year for him. Following the game, quarterback Jameis Winston showed he still has a ton of confidence in Hopkins.

"I expect better for my teammates, I expect better for the city of Cleveland," Hopkins said after the game. "It does not feel good being the weak link in a football game, and I was definitely that today. So form-wise, I kind of went into halftime, felt better about where I needed to be, but it was too late."

Hopkins’ first kick was a tough one from 51 yards that was pushed wide. After that, Hopkins went on to miss a 44-yard field goal. Just last year, Hopkins was one of the best kickers in the NFL and converted 33-of-36 kicks. This season, Hopkins had made just 14-of-20 field goals. Like most everything else with the Browns, it has been a step in the wrong direction.

"I've been with Dustin 13 years ago when I was at Florida State and he was the golden boot," Winston said. "I'm always going to have tremendous faith in him and I trust you that he's going to continue to work and get better. … Yes, it's tough when all eyes are on you, that's like the quarterback position, that's like the leader of the defense. All eyes are on you. So when all eyes are on you, you have to bunker down and show up."

Cleveland has a lot of issues, but one of them that currently sticks out is kicking field goals. An offense that is scoring just 16.4 points per game can not waste opportunities like this. It is back to the drawing board for Hopkins and the Browns. There won’t be much time between now and the Thursday night game against AFC North leader Pittsburgh Steelers.
