The Miami Dolphins managed to put back-to-back wins together for the first time in 2024, defeating the Las Vegas Raiders 34-19 at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.

The win moved Miami to 4-6 on the year, putting them one game behind the Denver Broncos for the final wild card spot in the AFC.  According to NFL.com's playoff picture, the Dolphins now have a 12% chance at reaching the postseason.  It goes without saying that, with the Bills at 8-2, the Dolphins' shot at the division is long gone, which puts the wild card as their only avenue to the postseason.

Miami didn't get much help around the league on Sunday.  Denver, who's holding the final playoff spot, thrashed Atlanta 38-6 to stay one game ahead of the Dolphins in the loss column.

However, it was Indianapolis winning that continues to be an issue for the Dolphins. Indy came from behind to defeat the Jets 28-27 in Anthony Richardson's return to the starting role. Miami's 16-10 loss to the Colts gives the latter the head-to-head tiebreaker if both teams finish tied at the end of the season.

The Los Angeles Chargers also pushed themselves likely out of reach for Miami with a win over the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday night 34-27.  However, the win did knock the Bengals a half game below Miami at 4-7 for those looking for a silver lining.

The Dolphins will have to continue to dig their way out of the hole they made for themselves on Sunday in another very winnable game against the New England Patriots at Hard Rock Stadium.
