The last domino for the Miami Dolphins‘ extension spree fell a few weeks back. All-Pro linebacker Jordyn Brooks secured a new three-year deal to stay in South Florida through the end of the 2029 season.
Initial terms of these contracts versus the full terms of these contracts often tell two different stories. The initial wave of information intends to impress. Big numbers, high averages, the works. Everyone involved wants the biggest numbers out there first. The full terms of Brooks’ contract just hit the web and there’s a few details beyond the surface you need to know.

Courtesy of Spotrac, the terms on the Brooks contract have been fully laid out. He has a total of $3.3 million in incentives tucked into his contract throughout the course of his contract, which includes the 2026 through 2029 seasons. The base value of his new deal averages $16 million per season in new money across new years (three years, $48 million).
As far as guarantees go, Brooks received a $5 million pay raise for the 2026 season. The maximum amount of his preexisting salary for 2026 plus his $5 million raise (a total of $12.31 million) was paid out to Brooks already in the form of a signing bonus. That money was, obviously, guaranteed at signing. Brooks will receive an additional $1.215 million in 2026 compensation in the form of base salary this season, fully guaranteed. In total, Brooks’ compensation for 2026 is $13.575 million.
Brooks has nearly $13 million available to him for 2027, with just over $12.5 million of that fully guaranteed. He’ll have a $50,000 workout bonus and $350,000 available in “per game active” bonuses.
As far as fully guaranteed money goes, that’s it! It finalizes the Dolphins going three for three on their new, big contracts in that regard. None of De’Von Achane, Aaron Brewer, or Jordyn Brooks have any 2028 compensation fully guaranteed to them at this point in time. That’s a shift for the Dolphins under Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley. Those details don’t usually make the headlines. But they absolutely matter.
