The Pittsburgh Steelers are 3-0, riding high atop the division after a resounding win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

But like every football game, there was attrition in terms of injuries for both sides.

Here's the latest on the health of the team, including a likely absence from one of the Steelers' best defenders:

Alex Highsmith to miss a couple of weeks

Steelers edge rusher Alex Highsmith is expected to be sidelined “a couple weeks” with a groin injury, per team source. He initially dealt with a groin injury in camp and aggravated it on Sunday. In the meantime, it’s Nick Herbig time.

It's an obvious blow to a front seven that very well may be leading the best defense in all of the sport right now. There is no replacing Highsmith, but Pittsburgh has to feel pretty confident in what they have behind him after watching Nick Herbig put on a breakout performance in the second half against LAC.

He has the confidence of his teammates and his head coach, and that may be all Herbig needs to continue his dominance along the defensive line.

"That kid has supreme confidence in himself," Watt said of Herbig after Sunday's game. "You can't tell him anything. I respect the heck out of it. He's going to do everything that he possibly can to perform. He's going to ask every question. He's going to turn over every stone and just bust his tail. I respect the heck out of Nick, and I'm glad that he had the day that he did today."
