The Philadelphia Eagles didn't play on Sunday but they took a loss anyway after they downgraded their star wide receiver from questionable to out vs. the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night.

Brown practiced on Thursday before popping up on Friday's injury report as a limited participant with a hamstring injury.

He did not practice at all on Saturday.

When addressing Brown's hamstring on Saturday morning, head coach Nick Sirianni downplayed the injury.

“Just got a little tight in practice yesterday,” Sirianni said. “We’ll see how that goes.”

Brown has 5 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown on the season so far.

Rookie wide receiver Johnny Wilson also missed Saturday's practice with a hamstring injury, though remains questionable for Monday.

It looks like the Eagles will rely on No. 2 wideout DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson as their top two receivers on Monday night. And if Wilson can't play, then Britain Covey will take those snaps.

The Eagles traded the Washington Commanders for Dotson in August, sending them a 2025 third-round pick and two seventh-round picks

Dotson, 24, was originally a 16th overall pick out of Penn State by the Commanders in the 2022 NFL Draft. He hauled in 84 passes for 1,041 yards and 11 touchdowns in two seasons in Washington.

He logged 32 snaps in the Eagles' Week 1 win over the Green Bay Packers. He'll be ready for a heavier workload on Monday, per Sirianni.

"He's worked his butt off,” Sirianni said. “He’s obviously a very talented player and we’ll see how that goes. I know the guys are ready when called upon.”
