Fans won't be happy with what the NFL told the Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals aren't happy with their potential playoff scenarios.
Because of the Bengals' canceled game against the Buffalo Bills (which was the right decision), Cincinnati will be the AFC North champions regardless of what happens this weekend.
The Bengals, however, could still possibly play a road playoff game in the first round.
And that's what Cincy is upset about.
If the Bengals lose to the Ravens this weekend, and the Los Angeles Chargers beat the Denver Broncos, then a coin flip would decide where a potential playoff game between Cincinnati and Baltimore would be played.
The Bengals could become the first division winner to play a road game in the first round of the playoffs.
Accordign to ESPN's Adam Schefter, there are plenty of folks in the Cincinnati organization that are "livid" with the NFL's decision.
The NFL, in response, told the Bengals that they should be happy that they were awarded the AFC North division title, even though they could still play a road playoff game in the first round.
Bengals coach Zac Taylor already has voiced his opposition to the NFL's new playoff scenarios, but many in the Cincinnati organization are livid about a decision they feel penalizes the Bengals and rewards the Ravens, per sources.
The league told Cincinnati it should be happy it has been declared the AFC North winner, but the Bengals were furious the rules were changed on the fly and their playoff path intentionally altered.

I can understand the Bengals' frustration — they didn't do anything wrong and they probably feel like they're being punished.
But at the same time, the Ravens possibly lost a shot to win the division. If the Bills had defeated the Bengals, then Baltimore would've just needed a win against Cincy this weekend to win the AFC North. But because of what happened on Monday night, the Ravens don't get that chance.
There was never going to be a perfect solution. And the health of Bills safety Damar Hamlin should still be the main focus in the NFL right now.
Cincy can make all of this a moot point by just beating the Ravens on Sunday. They still control their own destiny as far as a home playoff game goes. Baltimore doesn't. So while it's not ideal, and I get that changing the rules midseason sets a bad precedent, this might have been the fairest thing the NFL could've done. I know Bengals fans won't like hearing that, but considering the situation, I think this was an acceptable solution.
