Eagles' players making sure one thing is clear after win over rival
The Philadelphia Eagles didn't get 6-0 by accident, I think we all know that, but for some reason, this is a surprise to everyone else. Ask the Dallas Cowboys, they know. The Philadelphia Eagles didn't get 6-0 by accident, I think we all know that, but for some reason, this is a surprise to everyone else. Ask the Dallas Cowboys, they know. Or better yet, ask Demarcus Lawrence, because "We Dem Boys, remember that."
You would think the Cowboys would have been humble being 4-1 without their best player who plays the most important position in the sport. Of course, they weren't, but the Eagles may have fixed that on Sunday Night Football.
The Eagles, on the other hand, are humble. And, they want everyone to know it isn't just one player. Like I said earlier, this wasn't by accident. It's all coming together.
"Humble me a lot, because you know, it's not about me," Garner-Johnson said. "It's about the team… Just playing with guys that's got a chip on their shoulders, we all have the same goal in mind, and it's just, it's a humbling experience for me because I had to swallow my pride when I first got here. Coach made me, you know, he got onto me about it, but it's all tough love. When coach is talking to you, you have to take ease to it. Just listen to how they play ball like he said. All of us really this is our first time playing together. It's just a blessing to be a part of a humble group that all young men just like to play ball."
The Eagles are the best team in the league, and Sunday only further confirmed that. However, you won't see them acting like other teams would if they were 6-0. You look back to last week and Jalen Hurts was talking about how he didn't like being 5-0.
“I personally hate hearing 5-0,” Hurts said Sunday of Week 5 after the win over Arizona. “I don't like to hear it. Because nobody wanted to mention the record when we were 2-5. Nobody wanted to talk about that. So I don’t want to hear it now. I don’t want to hear it now."
The Eagles know where they come from, and what it takes to be where they are now. If it was easy, they wouldn't be the only undefeated team, and they know that. Heck, even the new guy knows it.
and that's the culture we have seen this team has so far this year, and it starts with Nick Sirianni, who may be the Coach of the Year when it's all said and done.
