One adjective to describe the Philadelphia Eagles (6-0) scorching hot start to the season is undefeated opportunistic.

The Eagles’ offense has made opposing defenses pay, having scored 20 touchdowns on the year. That total ranks third in the NFL, trailing the Kansas City Chiefs (22) and Buffalo Bills (21).

Not only are they cashing in on offense, but they aren’t giving opponents any extra possessions. The Eagles have turned the ball over just twice this season, both coming in the form of Jalen Hurts interceptions.

Winning the turnover battle has been critical for Philadelphia. Not only has the offense been smart with the football, but the defense has forced an NFL-best 14 takeaways on the other side of the ball.

The Eagles’ secondary is loaded with ballhawks in Darius Slay, James Bradberry, and C.J. Gardner-Johnson. That trio is responsible for eight interceptions by themselves.

This Eagles team has the best of both worlds, contributing to a ridiculous +12 turnover differential. To help put this ludicrous number in the proper perspective, the Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings check in tied for second with a +4 turnover margin.

All of the stars have aligned in order for the Eagles’ to rattle six straight wins off to begin the 2022-23 campaign. Philadelphia’s combination of intelligence and efficiency are traits that point toward a postseason run that could leak into February.
