The 2022 NFL season is off to a wild start.* It's been a season filled with surprises and that includes one in the very AFC East. And no, you can't say the Buffalo Bills have been one of them.

*Note: We say this literally every NFL season. This is why we love football.

The Bills were expected, picked by most analysts and fans to win the Super Bowl since early in the offseason. If anything, it's a surprise they're not undefeated heading into Week 5. In fact, it's the team that caused that loss that has been one of the biggest shocks this year.

Actually, to NFL analyst Rich Eisen, they're the #1 surprise of the season thus far. You can hear his take in the clip below at the 5:05 minute mark.

"Everybody thought it would be possible, I GUESS," says Eisen of the Dolphins' hot start. "With the additions, I guess. With a new head coach who's kind of a mad scientist I guess."

"The Miami Dolphins can win it all," concluded Eisen.

The take might come as a surprise to many Bills fans, particularly because of the question marks surrounding Tua Tagovailoa's head injury. The Dolphins' quarterback has already been ruled out for Week 5 and as questions mount on the handling of Tua's situation, it's difficult to know when he will be back.

Head coach Mike McDaniel stated last week that Tua didn't suffer "anything more serious than a concussion," though. If that's indeed correct, one could assume the Dolphins are poised to get their quarterback back sooner rather than later.

If that happens, Eisen has a point. It would be difficult to make the case for Miami over Buffalo in the AFC East given the Bills have the better roster, better quarterback, better depth, and the most big-game experience.

Nevertheless, there's clearly good stuff cooking in Miami and the Dolphins proved it with a win in Week 4.

The Bills remain heavy favorites to win the division but it'd be foolish to not give their division rivals some credit here. After all, McDaniel has turned the Tua-led offense into the second best in the league going by DVOA.

If there's anything we've learned over the past few years in the NFL is that any elite unit – offense or defense – is enough to make a team into a contender in this league.
