The Kansas City Chiefs are reportedly working on a contract extension for one of their most important players.
KCSP's Bob Fescoe reported this week that Kansas City has "engaged" in conversations with wide receiver Tyreek Hill's representation on an extension.
Hill, who turned 28 earlier this week, is set to be a free agent after the 2022 season.
The former fifth-round draft selection has made the Pro-Bowl every year of his NFL career.
Hill is one of the fastest players in the NFL, which makes him a threat to score every time he touches the ball. The Chiefs clearly believe his speed will continue to be there later in his career since they're exploring an extension instead of letting the contract situation play out and possibly using the franchise tag next offseason.
Kansas City obviously wants to keep their big three together (Hill, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce). This move would be a big step in making that reality beyond 2022.
