Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones never passes up an opportunity to speak into a microphone.
Even if he isn't necessarily sure what he's saying.
On Monday, at the NFL owners meetings in Florida, Jones spoke to reporters about a variety of topics (including what position the Cowboys will target in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft).
At one point in the midst of his media session, Jones started rambling on all about all the attention the Cowboys receive on and off the field. And he appeared to be happy and also not happy about it?
"When you spend 30-something years saying 'Look at us. Hey, wait, wait, you’re looking away…We’re the Cowboys. Look at us'," said Jones. "When it's been that way, then when you have some things you might not want to look at, you get looked at. That's good."
It sounds like Jones is talking about how he's always desired for the Cowboys to get a lot of attention. But then says because of all the wanted attention that things he doesn't want the Cowboys getting attention for end up getting attention anyway. Which seemingly is a bad thing, right?
Not for Jones apparently. He followed that rambling response up with "That's good".
Ok, Jerry. Whatever you say. Give Cowboys fans a Super Bowl winner and all of the negative attention will turn into positive attention real quick. Which I'm sure would more than please the long-time Dallas owner.
