News broke on Thursday afternoon that the Tennessee Titans are exploring building a new stadium, instead of making upgrades to Nissan Stadium.

The proposed renovations to Nissan Stadium were expected to cost around $600 million. That price tag, however, has skyrocketed to the point that renovations are now expected to cost double that amount.

At that price, the Titans and the city of Nashville might as well go all out and build a new stadium.

And if they build a new stadium, why not build something with a roof?

Rhett Bryan, the executive producer of Titans radio, mentioned on 104.5 The Zone's Blaine and Mickey on Thursday that a domed stadium is something that could make a lot of sense.

The biggest reason is so the Titans could host three specific (huge) events — the Super Bowl, the NCAA Final Four, and the NFL Draft combine.

(Bryan also mentioned the NFL Draft, but that would likely make a return to Nashville with or without a new stadium.)

"You're going north of this figure, you might as well go down that road (a stadium with a roof)," said Bryan on Thursday.

"With Nashville being the 'it' city, how do you get a Super Bowl? You get something like that where the elements are not a factor at all," added Bryan. "Because you more than have enough of the room spaces hotel-wise now."

"You could get the draft back here. The combine is on the move after it's done in Indianapolis in a couple of weeks. The Super Bowl would be on the table. The Final Four in basketball."

MLB is possibly coming to Nashville. Now the Titans could be getting a new stadium that could host mega-events like the Super Bowl and the Final Four.

Nashville is about to become one of the sports meccas of the east coast.
