The Bengals brought back Tre Flowers and Eli Apple for another run, but they still need help at the cornerback position. Therefore, they have scheduled a top-30 visit with Clemson's Andrew Booth, per Jordan Schultz.
Granted, a top-30 visit does not guarantee the Bengals will draft Booth, by any means. But does signal that there is legitimate interest on the Bengals' side of the situation.
There's a really good chance Booth could fall to No. 31 in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. A strained quad caused him to miss the NFL Combine and then he didn't participate in Clemson's Pro Day. He underwent core muscle surgery the next week. All of the aforementioned circumstances will likely lead to most teams passing him up during the early portions of the first round. Which is why the Bengals have a good shot at landing him.
Cincinnati's defense saw a lot of improvement in 2021 and the secondary was a big part of the turnaround. Adding Booth not only keeps the secondary deep and competitive, but he also represents a potential building block on an already stacked roster.
Booth played three seasons at Clemson and finished with a career-high three interceptions in 2021. He's a fast, tall, physical cornerback that will line up across from receivers and make plays against the run. He's familiar with both man and zone concepts and would be a nice complement to Chidobe Awuzie on the perimeter of the defense.
Booth is the No. 4 corner in the draft according to The Athletic's Dane Brugler.
