Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Eli Apple has never been shy about talking trash.

Sometimes that trash talk is ill-advised — like last year in the playoffs when Apple talked trash to various Kansas City Chiefs players only for the Bengals to lose to the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl.

Apple's trash talk after the Bengals' win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, however, was a bit more appropriate.

After beating Tampa Bay, Apple told reporters that Cincinnati had "that old man tap dancing", referring to the 45-year-old Tom Brady.

Apple also said that Brady was "fairly okay, but not good enough to win" on Sunday.

The "fairly okay" comment is a reference to Brady calling the Bengals' defense "fairly tough" on his podcast last week.

Plenty of Cincinnati players referenced Brady's comments on Sunday — it's clear that Brady gave the Bengals some bulletin board material.

Apple, however, might have had the best response of any player. That kind of swagger will serve Cincinnati well in the playoffs later this season.
