If you would've told me on Sunday afternoon that on Monday I'd be writing about Tennessee Titans players reacting to Will Smith slapping Chris Rock at The Academy Awards, I would've never believed you.

But here we are.

If you're reading this, I'm sure you're already aware of the incident that went down at The Oscars on Sunday night.

Rock, who was hosting the awards show, made a joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith.

Smith didn't care for the joke (which poked fun at Pinkett-Smith's hair loss from alopecia), so he calmly walked on stage and open-hand slapped a stunned Rock.

Here's the full (NSFW) video of what went down.

As you can see, it was a tense moment and it didn't appear to be staged (though it wouldn't completely shock me if it was staged).

Several former Titans players (and current Titan Taylor Lewan) took to Twitter to react to the wild moment that had the entire country buzzing on Monday morning.

Will Compton is currently a free agent, but he's still closely associated with Lewan and the city of Nashville.

Former Titans offensive lineman Rodger Saffold, who signed with the Buffalo Bills earlier this month.

And former Titans linebacker Darren Bates.

When it comes to sports, and the world in general, you truly never know what the news of the day will be.

I've learned to expect the unexpected and I'm still surprised nearly every day.
