It has been an off-season of storylines for the Tennessee Titans. Tennessee traded WR A.J. Brown. The Titans re-signed pass-rusher Harold Landry. They drafted QB Malik Willis. It has been a whirlwind for the team and its fans, to say the least. As of late, Ryan Tannehill has been at the forefront of discussions among fans and the media.
Tannehill's character has been in the limelight. "Is he a leader?" That's the main question that's been buzzing around, especially since his comments yesterday about mentoring rookie QB Malik Willis.
Now, this is probably getting blown out of proportion. Tannehill's job is to help the Titans win games and raise the Lombardi trophy at the end of the year. Nothing more, nothing less. Tannehill is the player with the most pressure on them on the entire roster. He may have as much pressure on him as any other quarterback in the NFL. If he can help Willis develop along the way, that's a plus. That cannot be at the top of his to-do list, though.
Sports personality and show host Colin Cowherd defended Tannehill when asked about the situation.
Tannehill is the 2022 starter for the Titans. The Titans have Super Bowl aspirations this season. His focus must be on improving his play in the postseason, so his comments make sense. Cowherd hit this one on the head.
