The injury bug has plagued the Tennessee Titans in 2022, leading to a year filled with unpredictability and frustration.

It has also led to an influx of transactions being made to tweak the back end of the roster. Tennessee, for the second straight season, has had a revolving door at the end of their 53-man roster, cycling players in and out from different practice squads and picking up free agents off the street to contribute to the "next man up" culture.

If you think that sounds a lot like the 2021 season as well, that's because it does. One season after the Titans broke the NFL record for most players used in a single season (91), they are threatening to break their own record.

At 82 players with two games to go, the Titans may not end up eclipsing their 2021 mark. But when you consider that the previous record was 84 (set by the 2019 Dolphins), it really is remarkable that Tennessee will likely wind up with the two highest totals in NFL history in consecutive seasons.

For all the negativity that has come with the downward spiral in the second half of the season, it is important to keep perspective that this team has unquestionably dealt with more injuries and more change than any other team in the league. Who knows where they might be if they had some level of stability.

Only three players have played on 75% or more of Tennessee's defensive snaps. That tells you the type of adversity this team has had to overcome.

The number of players to suit up for the Titans may only continue to grow in the coming weeks. Because Thursday Night's game against the Dallas Cowboys will not change the Titans' playoff standing, there is a high likelihood that Mike Vrabel elects to rest a group of players who have been playing through injury. That means more inactives, more standard elevations, and the possibility of more new faces in a Titans' uniform.

DB Kyron Brown, QB Kevin Hogan, G Danny Isidora, OL Zack Johnson, OLB Zach McCloud, TE Thomas Odukoya, DE Jayden Peevy, WR Reggie Roberson Jr., and OT Andrew Rupcich are the nine players currently on the team's practice squad that have yet to take a snap.

On the active roster, QB Josh Dobbs and C Xavier Newman make up those who have not seen game action yet.

Time to see how many of those players find their way into a game before the season ends and see just how high the Titans' season total can climb.
