Former Tennessee Vols baseball star Drew Gilbert was involved in a scary play on Saturday.

Gilbert, who was drafted by the Houston Astros in the first round (No. 28 overall) of the 2022 MLB Draft, is currently playing for the Single-A Fayetteville Woodpeckers.

The former Vol crashed into the outfield wall in the first inning on Saturday and had to be carted off the field.

According to Astros beat writer Chandler Rome, Gilbert suffered an arm injury and he'll be undergoing further evaluation.

Gilbert was off to a quick start with the Woodpeckers. He hit a home run shortly after being promoted to Fayetteville from the Florida Complex League Astros.

Hopefully, Gilbert gets good news on his arm. He has loads of potential and I'm sure Vols fans are anxious to see him reach the big leagues.
