Tennessee Vols fans are already extremely excited about UT's upcoming matchup with the Florida Gators in Knoxville.

The buzz on social media is building as fans are beginning to anticipate a raucous atmosphere at what could be the Vols' biggest game of the season.

There's just one problem.

Tennessee still has to play Akron this week. The Vols don't face Florida for another week and a half.

If there's one thing we know about sports, it's that it's never wise to look past an opponent — even one that appears to be overmatched like Akron.

But don't worry. The Vols aren't looking ahead to Florida.

Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel made it clear on Wednesday during the SEC coaches teleconference that fans can do whatever they want. But the team is focused only on Akron this week.

"Fans get to do whatever they want to, right?" said Heupel.

"When you're a competitor, you have to be really consistent in your habits," added the second-year Vols head coach. "You better prepare the right way and be consistent in that to play your best football on Saturday."

If you're worried about Tennessee coming out flat this weekend, don't be.

Heupel has done a great job of making sure this team keeps its focus on what's important.

And all that's important for the Vols right now is Akron at 7:00 PM ET on Saturday night in Neyland Stadium.
