Former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Nico Iamaleava went down with an injury in UCLA’s win over California.
Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Nico Iamaleava had to be helped off the field in UCLA’s 45-24 win over California on Saturday night.
Iamaleava, who is in his second season at UCLA, went to the medical tent after diving on a loose ball with the Bruins ahead by seven points in the fourth quarter.
He was replaced in the game by his younger brother, Madden.
Iamaleava eventually returned to the field to finish out the game.
UCLA head coach Bob Chesney said after the game that Iamaleava got cleated and kept “cramping up.”
Iamaleava finished the night with 184 passing yards and an interception. He also rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown.
UCLA will host San Diego State next Saturday.
