Tennessee Vols fans probably aren't going to like the announcers for UT's game against the Vanderbilt Commodores on Saturday night.

Tom Hart and Jordan Rodgers are scheduled to call the action for the SEC Network on Saturday night. Cole Cubelic will join them as the sideline reporter for the game.

Hart and Cubelic probably won't invoke a strong reaction from Vols fans. Hart does a pretty good job as a play-by-play announcer. And he has a connection to Knoxville as he served as an announcer for the Tennessee Smokies for five seasons.

Cubelic, a former Auburn offensive lineman, does a great job as a sideline reporter as well.

Rodgers is where Tennessee fans will take issue.

Rodgers, the younger brother of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, is a former Vanderbilt quarterback.

The California native played at Vandy for three seasons and he led the Commodores to a 41-18 win against Tennessee in 2012 (Derek Dooley's last game as the Vols' head coach).

That Vandy win in 2012 was especially sweet for Rodgers, as he toldThe Tennessean in 2019 that he wanted "revenge" in that game.

Tennessee fans probably won't be thrilled watching a Vols game that features a former Vandy quarterback as an announcer.

Especially since Rodgers has been heavily critical of the Vols already this season.

"Tennessee has still not fixed the fact that they are terrible in pass defense," Rodgers said in October on The Paul Finebaum Show. "They are terrible in pass defense. It is a fact."

In retrospect, Rodgers' comments are correct. But a day after he made those comments, Tennessee's defense completely shut down Kentucky Wildcats quarterback Will Levis.

If Vandy gives the Vols a scare or ends up beating Tennessee, the inclusion of Rodgers on the broadcast might be enough to make some UT fans break their televisions.
