Mays told the media that he models his game after Titans offensive lineman Taylor Lewan. He also noted that he's an avid listener of Lewan's podcast "Bussin with the Boys".

Mays was ranked in Bleacher Report's post-Senior Bowl rankings as the No. 87 overall draft prospect. They gave him a grade of 7.2, which puts him on their scale as a "High-level backup/Potential starter/Third round selection".

The Titans don't have a second-round pick this year, but they have the No. 90 overall pick (third-round) which is where it looks like Mays is projected to be drafted.

Several recent mock drafts have the Titans taking an offensive lineman with one of their first two picks in the draft. Mays could be a solid pick thanks to his versatility. The former Vol missed a couple of games in 2021 (he made 10 starts), but he was elite when he was on the field. According to Pro Football Focus, he played 493 snaps in 2021 and allowed only one sack.

Mays played right tackle last season for the Volunteers, but he will most likely stick at guard in the NFL.
