The Tennessee Vols could soon be adding a talented running back to their 2023 recruiting class.
Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney predicted this week that Tennessee will land a commitment from four-star running back Sam Singleton.
Singleton, 5-foot-11/180 lbs from Orange Park, FL (Fleming Island), is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 6 running back in the nation and the No. 26 overall player in the state of Florida.
Singleton, who took an unofficial visit to Tennessee in April, talked to VolQuest back in March about his interest in the Vols.
“I’m liking the Tennessee coaches right now,” said Singleton. “That’s something I’m really looking for in a program is the coaching staff. Some of the schools I’ve been to, they really haven’t been what I’ve wanted in a school, but Tennessee has my interest for sure.”

Also does track and field (sprints, jumps). Posted a personal-best 10.86 in the 100-meter dash back in Spring 2021. Ran at Florida Relays in Spring 2022, but track season was cut short due to injury.
2021: As a junior, averaged 6.4 yards per carry and 105.3 yards per game. Totaled 948 yards on the ground and 9 TD. Also caught 4 passes for 52 yards and a score Helped Fleming Island make Sunshine State’s 7A playoffs.
The Vols currently have nine players committed to their 2023 recruiting class (ranked No. 7 in the nation). Tennessee doesn't have a 2023 running back committed yet.
