The Tennessee Vols are the No. 3 team in the nation in the latest AP Top 25 poll.

There's one voter, however, who doesn't think the Vols should even be inside the top five.

Mike Berardino, a Notre Dame beat writer for the South Bend Tribune, had Tennessee at No. 6 on his ballot this week.

When I first saw this ballot, I thought maybe it was just his ballot from last week and it didn't get updated. After all, who would vote Tennessee at No. 6 and Alabama at No. 3 after watching the Vols beat the Crimson Tide?

Then I saw his ballot from last week and he had Tennessee at No. 9 and Alabama at No. 1.

I have no idea what this guy is thinking. My initial thinking is that there must be some bias at play here. But Berardino is a graduate of North Carolina and he didn't even include the Tar Heels in his top 25 this week (UNC is ranked No. 22 this week). So I'm not sure there's bias at play here.

Maybe he just pulls names out of a hat. Either way, he probably shouldn't have an AP Top 25 vote if he's putting an undefeated SEC team below a one-loss Alabama team (whose loss came at the hands of that undefeated SEC team).
