Tennessee Vols baseball coach Tony Vitello was plastered all over social media this past weekend after sitting courtside for UT's win against the Auburn Tigers on Saturday afternoon.
Vitello received plenty of attention for wearing a Zakai Zeigler jersey and some gold Nikes (and later, for Zeigler not even knowing he had hugged Vitello after the game).
On Sunday, after Tennessee baseball's 12-2 win over Iona, Vitello was asked by reporters about his experience at the Vol basketball game.
Vitello said someone gave him the tickets for Saturday's game and he admitted that it's probably not a good idea that he sits courtside very often.
"I would probably get thrown out a minimum of seven games if I had those tickets all year long," said Vitello. "I understand where Spike Lee and some of those people are coming from. I don't know that I need to be down there again."
We've seen Vitello get pretty fired up on the diamond a few times, so it's not a surprise that he felt the urge to get fired up during Tennessee's win against Auburn.
It's kinda nice to know that a baseball coach who has two decades of experience coaching in a competitive environment still gets just as emotional over bad calls as average fans.
