The Denver Broncos' offense took its biggest step of the season this week.
The passing game finally looked really impressive under Nathaniel Hackett and Russell Wilson. Wide receiver Jerry Jeudy had a career day as well. Jeudy caught three touchdowns in the narrow loss. The offense started slow but caught fire in the second half to almost make an improbably comeback.
Hackett made a massive change to Jeudy's role before the game that may change his career trajectory.
He had the young wide receiver take over the "X" position at WR for the Broncos.
Clearly, the role fit Jeudy quite well. He looked comfortable, and his connection with QB Russell Wilson has never been better.
The physical aspects of Jeudy's game have never been in question in the NFL. His health and fit with Denver have clouded his projection, but things seem to be rounding into form for the former standout from Alabama.
Going forward, don't be surprised if Jeudy remains in the "X" role in the offense.
Regardless of Courtland Sutton's health, Jeudy has proven to be the best option at that position.
Hackett needs to continue making tweaks like this in order to find the best efficiency possible for the offense.
