The Denver Broncos have a tough task coming up in Week 1. Not because of who the opponent is, as the Seahawks will likely be a bad team in 2022, but because it is the first game of the year.

This is the first game that the starters are getting in terms of real football action, as none of them played in the preseason, so the game could start slow for the Broncos.

However, towards the end, it could start getting out of hand. We could see the defense turn things up and create some takeaways, on top of the offense firing on all cylinders. If so, we could possibly see a rookie have a big game.

Broncos' Washington could make some plays Monday

This past offseason the Denver Broncos took a receiver with their 162nd pick of the 2022 NFL draft. Montrell Washington showed so much potential in training camp and the preseason that he was the talk of the town. Of course, that's after Russell Wilson.

In the preseason, he showed what he can do with the backups. Against the Dallas Cowboys Washington didn't play much, and still finished with a few catches.

When they visited the Buffalo Bills, Washington was still able to show some good in a blowout loss. He finished with two catches for 25 yards on three targets, and had one big 19-yard catch.

In the last preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings, we saw Washington used in a different way than what we expected. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett used Washington's speed to his advantage and ran a run play for him to score an 11-yard touchdown.

Washington can be a vital part of the receiving corps in a few years. We see that just based on the potential he has shown. But on Monday night against the Seahawks, he could have a big game depending on how the game script goes.

Watch for number 12 on Monday night as he could be used in a variety of ways. In preseason and training camp he returned punts and kicks, so we could also see him make some plays there as well.

The Broncos love what they see in Washington, and they think he may be the one.

Denver will be in good hands in the future, and we could get a glimpse of that on Monday.
