The city of Philadelphia continues to prove why it’s the nation’s top sports city.

Though the Philadelphia Phillies’ magical World Series run came to a heart-breaking end, there is plenty left to cheer about in the City of Brotherly Love.

The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles (8-0) are the hottest team in the NFL right now, but that’s not stopping a couple of players from chilling out and supporting the hometown Philadelphia 76ers.

Two Eagles fan-favorites in Devonta Smith and C.J. Gardner-Johnson pulled up to watch the Sixers defeat the Phoenix Suns on Monday night. Prior to the game, Gardner-Johnson, who leads the NFL with five interceptions, was the ceremonial bell-ringer.

Smith was also in the spotlight as he was featured on the Jumbotron while posted up next to Franklin.

It’s fantastic to witness each sports team in Philly feed off of another’s momentum. This isn’t just to keep appearances up either. The Eagles were heavily invested, glued to the television for the entire postseason, hoping the Phillies could bring home a championship.

If anybody understands how fantastic Philly fans are its Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni. Sirianni has praised the fanbase multiple times for their impact in games at home, and on the road.

It’s rare for any city’s teams to undergo simultaneous success, but Philadelphia is a completely different animal. Philly consists of the country’s most passionate fans unbothered by negative perceptions from outsiders.

For the Eagles to invest energy into supporting the Sixers while in the heart of the NFL's season is a microcosm of the bounds Philadelphia is willing to go in order to lift up their teams.
