The Denver Broncos are going through what looks to be the injury bug once again. As of Wednesday, one of the best safeties in the league Justin Simmons was put on the injured reserved list, meaning he will miss at least four games.
With that move, the Broncos made another.
They signed former interceptions leader Anthony Harris.
Harris played for the Philadelphia Eagles last season, and the Minnesota Vikings the six years before that.
Once upon a time, he and Harrison Smith were the best safety duo in the league. In 2019, Harris finished with six interceptions, which led the league.
He was signed to the practice squad, but could easily be elevated to the 53-man roster by the end of the week.
The Broncos may, or may not struggle with Simmons missing time. However, the thought around the team is that Harris can help with that a bit. He brings a veteran leadership that the safeties behind Simmons don't really have in Caden Sterns and P.J. Locke.
