NFL Network analyst Marc Sessler made a prediction on Wednesday that bodes well for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022.
Sessler appeared on NFL Network's "Total Access" and predicted that the Eagles are going to make a massive jump on the defensive side of the ball this season.
Specifically, Sessler thinks Philly will be a top-five defense in 2022. He also thinks they'll finish top five in sacks after finishing near the bottom of the league in sacks a season ago.

"Last year, [they were] 31st in sacks, this year, they're going to be in the top five in sacks and all defensive categories," said Sessler. "They just have too much versatility, too much talent up there."
"Haason Reddick's going to be in double digits. Brandon Graham's going to have a resurgence. Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, going to get a couple in there. They just have a lot of bodies in there and going to get a lot of sacks and shut a lot of people down. Eagles, top five offense, top five defense, and top five in sacks."
The Eagles finished with the No. 18 scoring defense in the NFL in 2021.
If they just have a top 10 defense in 2022, I think they're coming out on top in the NFC East this season.
Even with one of the least productive pass-rushing units in the NFL last season, the Eagles still finished 9-8 and just a couple of games behind the Dallas Cowboys in the NFC East. A better offense combined with a significantly better defense could lead to a disappointing season for Dallas.
Obviously, the Eagles have to go prove on Sundays that they can be elite defensively. If Sessler's prediction comes true, the Eagles are winning the NFC East for the first time since 2019.
