The Miami Dolphins (8-6) lost a close game to the Buffalo Bills (11-3). Which puts them seemingly out of reach of the AFC East crown.

Even though RB Raheem Mostert put on a show with his best game of the year so far, the division is likely staying in Buffalo.

Good news? The wildcard is still very much available for the Dolphins. And they are getting plenty of help along the way.

Right now, the best chances Miami has in the postseason is taking on whoever wins the AFC South. Likely who will land the fourth seed. Seeds one, two and three will fall to some combination of Buffalo, Kansas City and Cincinnati.

With a Baltimore Ravens loss to the Cleveland Browns yesterday, it moves Baltimore to the Wildcard and puts the Browns, 1.5 games behind the seventh seed.

Now that Baltimore is having quarterback issues following Lamar Jackson's injury and questionable future for the rest of the season, the Ravens are free falling.

On top of Baltimore, the Dolphins got some much-needed help from the Motor City. The Detroit Lions beat the New York Jets, now losers of three in a row. Pushing them further down the playoff pipeline.

The Miami Dolphins are very much alive for the five seed, in the sixth but only a game behind. Their best chance for a Super Bowl push. With it coming down to Tennessee and Jacksonville.

Their remaining schedule is a mix of favorable and eye-opening. Taking on the LA Rams and Green Bay Packers, a pair of NFC teams who are one loss away from being eliminated. Then finishing against the New England Patriots, who are also alive for the fifth seed.

Much of the Dolphins' destiny is out of their hands, but they are still in a favorable spot to finish.
