Denver Broncos, McTelvin Agim

The Denver Broncos played the Minnesota Vikings in their final preseason game of the year, and some players showed up, as they needed to.

With the critical cut date coming Tuesday, it's more than important for these players that are down the depth chart to have great games. We have seen guys take the field that most have never heard of, and yet still make a splash.

Jalen Virgil is one of the guys in that conversation, as he was undrafted, and could potentially make this roster.

Then there are guys who have been on the team before this season, but their roster spots aren't safe. McTelvin Agim has been one of those guys during training camp and the preseason.

On Saturday, his performance may have saved himself a roster spot on the team, as he has somewhat been on the outside looking in.

Broncos' Agim could be on the roster come Tuesday

In 17 career games with the Broncos, Agim has just 12 tackles, 1.5 sacks, and two pass deflections. He hasn't started any games in his career yet and has never played more than 21% of the total defensive snaps in a season.

It's fair to say Agim hasn't gotten a ton of chances to prove himself.

The former Arkansas defensive lineman was dominant at times in college, which is why the Broncos took him in the third round of the 2020 draft. So, they do have a reason to keep him around.

On the Vikings' first offensive drive, Agim forced a fumble. He was putting pressure on the offensive line and burst through to get the fumble, and the Broncos get the ball back.

Later in the game, he was seen getting up slow after a snap, so my initial thought was that it wasn't good. Especially after the game, he was already having. When you are battling for a roster spot like Agim is, getting injured is the last thing you want.

It turned out Agim was okay because the very next snap he was on the field for, he forced a fumble that led to a scoop and score by Baron Browning.

Agim had a huge game on Saturday, but I don't think I need to tell you that for you guys to know what he did. However, his play against the Vikings may have saved him a roster spot.

Agim showed on Saturday that he can provide depth at the edge position, which will be valuable considering the Broncos injury history.

Let's hope we see his name on the roster come Tuesday.
