Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts has an advantage entering the 2022 season that he hasn't had since high school.

The former Alabama/Oklahoma quarterback won't be adjusting to a new play caller this season, something that The Athletic's Zach Berman pointed out this week.

From The Athletic:

Hurts is not spending an offseason adjusting to a new play caller for the first time since high school. He has a full year against NFL defenses in his database. Sirianni and offensive coordinator Shane Steichen worked with Philip Rivers when Rivers had a decade in the NFL. Hurts only had four starts going into last season.

Constantly adjusting to new play-callers can be a quarterback killer.

Continuity is extremely important when it comes to quarterbacks — especially early in a quarterback's career.

We really haven't seen what Hurts can do in his second season in the same system — dating back to his college days. He's constantly had to learn a new offense (to some extent) throughout his career.

This season, however, will see Hurts working with Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and offensive coordinator Shane Steichen for the second straight season. That means instead of Hurts getting to know the coaches and learning the terminology, he's been able to spend all offseason perfecting the offense and helping tweak things to make it work to his advantage.

I think we're going to see Hurts take a massive step forward this season.

And thanks to aforementioned continuity and the presence of wide receiver AJ Brown (traded from the Tennessee Titans to the Eagles earlier this offseason), we could see Hurts reach his first career Pro Bowl in 2022.
