Trade, Broncos

The NFL is a funny, funny league. 10 minutes after I finished writing why the Denver Broncos should trade away Bradley Chubb, my Twitter goes off as Adam Schefter is explaining the trade and who is receiving the fifth-year pass rusher.

Denver has amazing depth behind Chubb and on the opposite side, so they didn't really, need him. Plus, Chubb would have cost the Broncos money in 2023, as he is looking for an extension after this year.

The Broncos don't have a ton of draft capital heading into next year, so this trade helps that, too.

The Miami Dolphins sent a 2023 first-round pick from San Francisco, a 2024 fourth-round pick, and running back Chase Edmonds for Bradley Chubb and a 2025 fifth-round pick.

The Broncos still have Nik Bonitto, who is the league's best pass-rushing rookie statistically, Randy Gregory who is hurt but will be back soon, Barron browning who is banged up, and Matt Henningsen.

Chase Edmonds has been good every year but this year, so there are still a lot of questions about what will happen with him. However, the Broncos have needed another running back.

Latavius Murray hasn't been as great as they thought, Mike Boone is now hurt, and Melvin Gordon is disgruntled.

The Broncos get back a first-round pick that they actually lost because of the Russell Wilson trade.

This trade was great by the Broncos, in my opinion. I think this was great for the future, too, which is what a lot of people aren't thinking about.
