It's no secret that most of the Tennessee Vols' offensive woes in 2018 were due to a porous offensive line.

Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt, along with his coaching staff, are doing their best to make sure that offensive line talent/depth isn't an issue moving forward.

Tennessee signed five-star offensive tackle Wanya Morris during the early signing period, and they appear to be the team to beat for five-star offensive tackle Darnell Wright, who will sign with a program in less than two weeks.

Landing some elite offensive linemen in the 2019 recruiting class is obviously a big deal for the Vols, but UT has to continue to land highly rated recruits that can be a force up front.

That's why a weekend visit from 2020 four-star offensive tackle Tate Ratledge, a 6-foot-6/295 lb recruit from Rome, GA, is very important for Tennessee.

Ratledge, who is rated as the No. 6 player in the state of Georgia and the No. 4 offensive tackle in the nation, appeared to have a good time in Knoxville this weekend.

The Georgia native was actually in town to watch Tennessee's basketball team according to VolQuest, but he decided to swing by the football complex after receiving a text from offensive line coach Will Friend. Ratledge posed for photos with 2020 Vol quarterback commit Harrison Bailey and UT athletic director Phillip Fulmer.

Bailey and Ratledge played against each other last August, with Ratledge's high school team coming out on top. Bailey, however, shined in the matchup, tossing for 443 yards and six touchdowns. Four of his touchdown passes went to Vol signee Ramel Keyton.

There's a long way to go in Ratledge's recruitment, and he has offers from top programs like Auburn, Alabama and Georgia, but I think the Vols will stand a decent chance of landing the talented offensive linemen. They should certainly be right in the mix, at least.
