2020 four-star safety Major Burns received an offer from the Tennessee Vols on Monday evening.
Earlier in the day, Burns, 6-foot-1/184 lbs from Baton Rouge, LA, decomitted from Texas A&M.
The Louisiana native originally committed to Texas A&M in early February.
It's not a surprise that Tennessee is now pursuing the talented defensive back. Burns has the height that Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt typically desires in his safeties/cornerbacks.
UT also hasn't been shy about heavily recruiting players from Louisiana. The Volunteers are likely hoping that running backs coach David Johnson's Louisiana connection (he's a New Orleans native and former high school coach in the Bayou State) can pay major dividends.
Tennessee currently has four commits to their 2020 recruiting class. Three-star wide receiver Antonio Barber, who committed to the Vols nearly a year ago, decommitted from UT earlier this week. The North Carolina native said the Vols will remain in the picture, but he seems to be trending toward NC State at the moment.
