Picking college football games against the spread is incredibly hard.

It's definitely harder than I realized when I said earlier this year that my goal was to get 75 percent of my picks correct (what an idiot).

This past week was one of my worst weeks of the year. Of course, it was a tough week to pick games. I don't think anyone saw South Carolina's upset of Georgia coming. And I don't think many folks expected LSU to cover the 13.5 point spread against Florida.

I ended up going 2-5. The only correct picks I made were Mississippi State failing to cover the spread against Tennessee and Vanderbilt against UNLV. My record for the season stands at 28-31, which means I'm going to need a miracle run in the final month and a half of the season to get to 75 percent.

Yeah, I don't see it happening either.

But on to week 8's picks. Here's what I have this week.

  • Florida 27 South Carolina 13 (Florida -5)
  • Auburn 38 Arkansas 10 (Auburn -19.5)
  • LSU 45 Mississippi State 13 (LSU -18.5)
  • Missouri 33 Vanderbilt 10 (Missouri -21)
  • Georgia 35 Kentucky 13 (Georgia -25)
  • Texas A&M 30 Ole Miss 21 (Texas A&M -6.5)
  • Alabama 52 Tennessee 20 (Alabama -34.5)
