2020 four-star defensive back Kendall Dennis included the Tennessee Vols in his top eight schools this week.

Dennis, 6-foot/172 lbs from Lakeland, FL, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 35 player in the state of Florida and the No. 16 cornerback in the nation.

The Florida native, who reportedly runs the 40 yard dash in 4.40 seconds, took an unofficial visit to Tennessee in mid-June.

Dennis told Rivals last month that Tennessee is in his top three. He cited his relationship with secondary coach/defensive coordinator Derrick Ansley as one of the reasons for having the Vols high on his list.

That shouldn't come as much of a surprise. Ansley, along with UT head coach Jeremy Pruitt, has an outstanding reputation when it comes to developing defensive backs. Dennis said that early playing time and coaching will be the main factors that go into his decision.

Tennessee currently has 12 players committed to their 2020 recruiting class.
