2021 five-star defensive tackle Payton Page, the top rated player in the state of North Carolina, is visiting the Tennessee Vols this weekend.
Page, 6-foot-4/315 lbs from Greensboro, NC (Dudley), is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 defensive tackle in the nation and the No. 5 overall 2021 player in the nation.
247Sports describes Page as a "power five impact player" who could develop into an early round selection in the NFL Draft. They also mentioned that his body already looks "college ready", despite having two years of high school left.
Page, who has offers from nearly all the major power five programs, totaled 80 tackles and eight sacks as a sophomore in 2018.
The North Carolina native told Rivals earlier this month that he loves UNC because they "treat him like family". 2020 four-star defensive end Myles Murphy, Page's teammate, committed to the Tar Heels on July 8.
Page actually has a loose Tennessee connection, though. Former Vols defensive back Emmanuel Moseley, who currently plays for the San Francisco 49ers, played high school football at Dudley. While he and Page obviously didn't play together, it's highly likely the two have crossed paths. I'm sure Moseley will be encouraging Page to pick UT.
The Vols currently have three players committed to their 2021 recruiting class.
