Newly acquired Tennessee Titans wide receiver Chris Conley is already fitting right in with the culture of his new team.

After moving rookie WR Kyle Philips to injured reserve on Tuesday, the Titans signed Conley to the active 53-man roster off of the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad.

Conley, currently in his eighth NFL season, has spent time with the Houston Texans and Jacksonville Jaguars over the last four years. All that time in the AFC South has him familiar with the Titans culture, something he believes he fits into well.

“I only know how to play the game one way, and that’s full speed and physical," Conley said. "I know that that's a theme around here, so I'm hoping to fit in."

I don't think Conley will have any trouble fitting in to the Titans locker room. He called himself the "best blocking wide receiver in the league," and embraces that role on offense. This franchise adores players that play the game fast and physical, not to mention their recent affinity for wide receivers with blocking capabilities.

More importantly than that, Conley just gets it. He understands the culture of the locker room and what the coaching staff is trying to do with this roster. From his answers in the locker room on Wednesday, it sounds likely Conley has already bought in to those principles.

"Having played against the Titans over the years, I know the mentality is that of physicality," Conley told the media. "It's that of dominating your opponent, it's being fundamentally sound and not shying away from anything."

"Knowing that," Conley continued, "I knew what I was coming into. I know that there's a very high standard on finishing, but that's a challenge that you want to be able to attack and tackle."

Getting a player to buy in to your culture is step one of having them make an impact. Sometimes culture fit and chemistry is just as important as fitting to a scheme, and Conley already sounds like a Titan.

The Titans seem to have found another player with the right make-up and drive to help them patch the holes of their depleted roster.

I'm expecting Conley to see the field immediately and get a solid number of snaps against Houston on Sunday. With the Titans likely to run the ball against one of the worst run defenses in football and Conley going up against his former team, it's the perfect matchup to get involved in his first game as a Titan.
