Madden ratings come out at the perfect time every single year. We are close enough to football season to where it is on the mind of every NFL fan. We are also far away enough from actual football that people think arguing over video game numbers is the most important debate in the world. For the Titans, rookie QB Malik Willis got some respect from Madden when it comes to two of his best traits.

Willis has every tool in the tool bag when it comes to physical talent. He is one of the most tantalizing athletes at the QB position in recent memory. Madden recognizes that for sure. His deep throw ability is something to marvel at, but the consistent accuracy downfield has not been there as of yet. Meanwhile, the speed is unrivaled. He was one of the most dynamic runners in college football, regardless of the competition he was up against.

For the Titans, he is all projection. Ryan Tannehill is the established starter for this season at the very least. It's possible Willis doesn't get many in-game reps in the first two years of his career with Tennessee. His development needs time, though.

The upheaval in competition as Willis transitions from Liberty University to the NFL cannot be understated. That being said, the Titans were willing to take a chance on him when other teams did not. His physical attributes had him going in the first round of many mock drafts.  Madden noticed that, and they gave him plenty of respect at his two most impressive attributes.
