The Tennessee Vols have the top ranked basketball team in the nation, but that doesn't mean they're a lock to make a deep NCAA tournament run.

Obviously the Vols will be one of the favorites when the calendar flips to March, but they still have to perform when it counts. All it takes is on bad game and they could be heading home to Knoxville.

CBS Sports basketball reporter Seth Davis, however, believes Rick Barnes' Tennessee squad will be one of the last teams still alive in the NCAA tournament. In fact, he has the Vols in the Final Four (as of now).

Duke is an obvious choice to reach the Final Four. And Kentucky is Kentucky, they always seem to be right in the mix (plus they're playing well right now).

Purdue is the big surprise here. The Boilermakers are currently 17-6 and ranked No. 12 in the nation. It certainly wouldn't be a surprise if they reached the Final Four (there seems to almost always be a surprise, though), but they obviously aren't the first team that comes to mind when I think about a deep tournament run.

But regardless of which other teams make a run, one thing is clear — if the Vols continue to play like they are right now, they will absolutely be playing in Minneapolis in April.
